  1. The Custard Company

    Dearborn, MI

When the building across the street from the BP gas station they owned went up for sale, Jamal Jawad and his father were quick to jump on the opportunity and open The Custard Company, a specialty ice cream shop. Like many businesses, they were forced to close during the pandemic, but TikTok provided a new outlet for growth, and when they reopened their doors, it was announced via a TikTok video! Through videos promoting new and special menu items, The Custard Company has garnered over 250,000 followers on the platform, which has led to steady business in their shop, including customers who drive hours to try the ice cream they saw on TikTok. But even more so, the platform has allowed them to connect and collaborate with content creators, helping to further build and spread brand awareness. With the help of TikTok, The Custard Company has been able to open a second location in less than three years, and already, they have plans for more on the way!
